Improving your Practice, using Outcome Measure tools
Join us for our 90 minute online training webinar led by Lee Atkins, Regional Officer.
The training is aimed at all practitioners in any setting who use measures in their support for children, young people’s mental wellbeing.
It is not intended to be an introduction to using measures and therefore we recommend that for anyone who is new to this work should attend introductory sessions, also provided by CORC – please see here for this next available training.
How can we get better results? A proven way to improve any form of practice, be it playing golf or providing specialist mental health treatment, is by engaging in deliberate practice; while regular practice might include mindless repetitions, deliberate practice requires focused attention and is conducted with the specific goal of improving performance. Such deliberate practice, in the support for children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, is supported by the focused use of outcome and feedback monitoring and measuring.
This training enables you to understand more about this way of working and how to integrate it into your practice.
Aims of this training:
The focus of the session is on using a combination of measures to improve practice and get better results. It will explore deliberate practice; incorporating client and expert feedback alongside outcome monitoring with the specific goal of improving performance.

- Become confident to integrate it into their routine practice

Lee Atkins
Regional Officer
As Regional Officer for the Midlands and South West, Lee seeks to support organisations and services to develop their evidence based and outcome focused approach for service improvement. Lee developed his passion for this work supporting the mental health and well-being of children and young people over 12 years across voluntary and statutory sectors. This experience gave him a keen understanding of the needs of children, young people and their families (CYPF) and a commitment to putting them at the centre of all support for them. Lee is excited by the variety and diversity of work that takes place for CYPF and seeks to better understand, to demonstrate and to improve the effectiveness of this support.
