Anna Freud releases manifesto: Thinking differently - calling for a renewed focus on prevention and early intervention

Anna Freud has unveiled its first manifesto: Thinking differently.

Released as we approach a general election, the manifesto’s five-point plan is clear. Political parties, policy makers and funders must:

  1. Give young people a meaningful say in an expanded approach to prevention

  1. Focus on communities

  1. Adopt a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing

  1. Widen our collective understanding of childhood trauma

  1. Leverage the power of science and data

Key to this plan is identifying children and young people whose circumstances increase their risk of developing mental ill health, and working with them, their schools and communities to co-design more timely and effective interventions.

Our work at CORC, together with you, our network and members, contributes to achieving these principles. If you work for a service or intervention that contributes toward the prevention of mental ill-health for children and young people that could benefit from creating evidence based data, please just get in touch to see how we could support leveraging the power of this.

You can read Anna Freud’s manifesto - Thinking differently - to find out more about the charity’s ambitions for a radical rethink of the way we support children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
