CORC and the Anna Freud Centre: working as one organisation
We are delighted to let you know that in July 2021 the CORC organisation (CORC Ltd) will be merging with the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (AFC), a world-leading mental health charity for children and families that has developed and delivered pioneering mental health care for over sixty years.
We are looking forward to continuing to support CORC members and develop our learning collaboration in this new setting. Building on a long history of close working between the two organisations, we are confident that this consolidation will offer the best opportunities to both progress CORC’s mission - strengthening the meaningful use of evidence to improve child and youth mental health support, services and systems – and to provide our members with the most relevant and helpful support over the coming months and years.
Some recent areas of joint working we are particularly excited to be able to build on include wellbeing measurement approaches for schools, research collaborations with the Evidence Based Practice Unit (based at UCL and the Anna Freud Centre) and the bringing together of expertise in routine outcome monitoring with clinical experience and system transformation initiatives to improve support for children, young people and their families.
Dr Jessica Deighton, Director of IED, said: "The Anna Freud Centre is delighted to welcome CORC into the organisation, and with the CORC staff team to continue to progress and build on CORC’s areas of expertise and projects that have been built up over the last twenty years – in particular around the best practice implementation of routine outcome monitoring; the management and analysis of routinely-collected data; and the development of a well-engaged network around a shared vision to focus on and improve outcomes of child and youth mental health support."
Kate Dalzell, Head of CORC, expressed her enthusiasm about the opportunities for the CORC Network: "more fully integrating CORC into the Anna Freud Centre offers fantastic opportunities to ensure that the wide-ranging expertise and experience of both organisations reaches people in a joined-up and useful way, and will enrich our endeavours as we continue to learn with others about how we can better support children, young people and families with their mental health. I am really looking forward to taking full advantage of the opportunities to improve our offer to the professionals and communities we work with."
We look forward to sharing more details with our members as plans progress and we start to capitalise on new opportunities over 2021. You can always reach out to the CORC team on Twitter @CORCcentral and via email email@example.com.
