Improving the quality of life and care of autistic people
CORC are evaluating the Southend, Essex and Thurrock All Age Autism Outreach Service (AOS).
(AOS) is commissioned on behalf of the ICB’s and Local Authorities across Southend, Essex and Thurrock, with the aim of improving the quality of life and care of autistic people, including those most at risk of admission to inpatient settings.
AOS has been delivered by the HCRG Care Group since 2024 and provides specialist support for autistic individuals, and professional consultation and training for those working alongside them. The team offer person-centred support for autistic individuals and those awaiting an autism assessment. Their multi-disciplinary team includes members whose personal experience of living with autism enables them to offer Peer Support. AOS strengthen the support offered by universal services for autistic people and their families by working with professionals from a wide range of services.
Our evaluation is exploring the experiences and outcomes of people accessing support and the impact of the service on the wider system.
